<sup>Charlie J. Meyers is an American painter who lives and works in Philadelphia. For Meyers, painting is interoception, the site at which neurobiology, somatic state, and facture coincide. His ongoing series, “Dark Bloom”, is a unified sensorium in extension.

PXP Contemporary currently represents a selection of Charlie’s abstract works and previously included his paintings in its 2024 group exhibition Believing In Tomorrow. Meyers holds an MFA from Concordia University and was a visiting artist at the Yale Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics. He has exhibited at galleries including Donald Browne Gallery in Montréal and Amos Eno Gallery in New York, and his work was included in the Montreal Arts Council’s 2016–2017 touring exhibition.

In 2024, La Mer (Estée Lauder) licensed one of Charlie Meyers’ paintings for a yearlong campaign that included video footage of his life story and studio. Meyers has been interviewed and featured by NPR, Innovate Artist Grant, and the podcast I Like Your Work.

Meyers is a 2020 Creative Capital grantee and a three-time recipient of Philadelphia’s Illuminate the Arts Grant. He is the founder of Moon Cheese Curator, where he works with other professional artists as an interlocutor, or “thought partner.” Alongside this practice, he privately instructs a gifted teenage student in art and philosophy. Charlie maintains a studio in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.</sup>
